WholesalePet is for qualified businesses that buy pet products for resale or professional use. That includes independent pet retailers, ecommerce retailers, groomers, veterinarians, boarding/daycare facilities, trainers, and other retail businesses (like gift shops or hardware stores) with a pet section.

To view vendor pricing, you’ll need to register on our site and may be asked to verify your business (and provide resale/tax documentation).

Getting started is easy—just complete our registration page. Once you submit the form, your account is created right away and you’ll be able to view wholesale pricing and place orders. There’s no waiting for site approval.

Most vendors allow instant ordering. However, some vendors may require vendor approval before you can place an order—especially if you plan to resell on third-party marketplaces (such as Amazon, eBay, or Walmart Marketplace). Because vendor policies vary, be sure to review each vendor’s order terms on their WholesalePet storefront before purchasing.

What if a vendor requires approval?
If approval is needed, it will be noted in the vendor’s order terms. In most cases, the process is quick and straightforward. If you have any questions, WholesalePet’s customer service team is happy to help.

No. WholesalePet is an online marketplace that connects retailers with pet industry vendors (brands and distributors). Orders are placed through WholesalePet, but the vendor fulfills the order, processes payment, and ships the products based on their standard terms and fulfillment process.

Products ship direct from the vendor. Shipping points are listed in each vendor’s Order Terms. For more details on a vendor’s location and shipping points, please visit that vendor’s storefront on WholesalePet.

Shipping times vary by vendor. Please review the vendor’s Order Terms on their WholesalePet storefront for details on lead times and shipping policies.

Yes—hundreds of vendors offer free shipping. You can view each vendor’s free shipping details, minimums, and any exclusions directly in the vendor’s Order Terms on their WholesalePet storefront. Free shipping offers are for the contiguous United States only.

Shipping rates are set by each vendor and are outlined in their Order Terms on WholesalePet. Depending on the vendor, shipping may be free (sometimes with a minimum), a flat rate, actual carrier rates, and/or include drop-ship fees. 

If a vendor offers free shipping, it’s available to any buyer who meets that vendor’s stated terms—there’s no paid program or upgrade required to access free shipping offers.

Collections are named lists that help you save and organize products as you shop. Favorites is simply your default Collection—a quick place to save items so you can find them again fast.

To get started, create your first Collection in My Account by entering a Collection name (for example: “Dog Treat Reset,” “Cat Endcap,” “Holiday,” or “New Store Opening”). Then, as you browse, click the heart icon in the top right corner of any product and choose which Collection to save it to. If you haven’t created any custom Collections yet, hearting an item will allow you to save it to Favorites.

WholesalePet is a B2B marketplace, so we may require a resale certificate / sales tax ID (or equivalent documentation) to confirm you’re purchasing for resale or business use and to help vendors stay compliant with tax rules.

Tax-free states: You may still need to provide business documentation.
International businesses: Enter your country name or business registration number in the Tax Resale ID field.

Our new site makes order communication easier with Order Notes. If you have a question about a specific order, you can add a quick note directly on the order to message the vendor with all the details in one place. Notes stay attached to the order, and email notifications are sent when a new note is added.
If you do not receive a response within 12 hours, simply click Escalate to WholesalePet to bring in our support team.

Adding items to your cart is easy and intuitive. You can use Quick Add directly from the product listing, or open the product page to review details before adding. For items with multiple options, like size or color, use the Order Grid to quickly enter quantities for each variation you need.

To remove an item, go to your cart and click Remove next to the product. To change quantities, simply update the Qty field in your cart and your cart will update automatically. Need help with your order? Reach out to WholesalePet customer service — we are always here to help.

Submitting orders on WholesalePet is simple and familiar. Add the products you want to your cart, review your items, quantities, vendor order terms, and freight policies, then click Proceed to Checkout. If you have items from multiple vendors in your cart, each vendor will be listed separately.

Not ready to check out with a particular vendor? No problem. You can check or uncheck vendors in your cart and only proceed with the orders you are ready to place. At checkout, confirm your billing and shipping information, choose your shipping method, enter your credit card payment, and click Place Orders. As always, WholesalePet customer service is here to help if you have questions along the way.

Yes. If you have special requests or important details for a vendor, please enter them in the Order Notes field at checkout. This is the best place to include information related to that specific order, such as preferred shipping details or other instructions you would like the vendor to review.

Many vendors on WholesalePet offer drop shipping directly to your customers. You can find these vendors by using the Drop Ship filter on the Vendors page or selecting the Drop Shipping feature in product results. Be sure to review each vendor’s Order Terms for drop-shipping details, fees, and any restrictions. Some vendors may limit online or third-party marketplace sales, and some may require prior approval before their products can be listed online.

To place a drop-ship order, go to checkout, select Ship to a different address, and choose Drop-ship from the address type drop-down menu. Then enter your customer’s shipping information and any important notes for the vendor in the Order Notes field. Vendors blind ship drop-ship orders, so supplier pricing will not be included in the shipment. If you need to include your company invoice, contact WholesalePet customer service after placing your order — we are here to help make the process easy.

You will be asked to enter billing and payment information for each vendor as you complete your order. Most orders are paid by credit card, and payment is typically processed by the vendor when your order ships. A small number of vendors may offer payment terms or ACH transfers, but these are subject to each vendor’s terms and conditions.

Accepted payment methods and payment terms may vary by vendor. If you have billing questions about a specific order, please contact WholesalePet customer service. We are happy to help you review your order and point you in the right direction.

At WholesalePet, we know that running a pet retail business comes with unexpected challenges. That’s why we’re here to support you every step of the way, including when you need to cancel, adjust, or request help with an order. Please review your order carefully before submitting. If you need to make a quick change or request a cancellation after placing an order, use Order Notes right away so the vendor has the full order context. You can also contact WholesalePet customer service at service@wholesalepet.com or 800-472-8984, Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST. If an order has already been processed or shipped, cancellation may not be available.

Returns, exchanges, credits, and replacements are subject to each vendor’s individual policies. Most vendors will issue a credit, refund, or replacement for shortages, defective products, incorrect items, or shipping damage. If you receive damaged, defective, or incorrect merchandise, please contact WholesalePet customer service directly and include your order number, vendor name, product details, and photos of the issue. Our team will work with the vendor to help find the best resolution.

You can check the status of an order by opening the order details on WholesalePet. Each order will show its current status, shipping details, expected ship date, freight carrier, tracking number, and any Order Notes communication.

Order statuses include Submitted, In Progress, Confirmed, and Canceled. These let you know where your order is in the process, from newly placed to being reviewed, updated, fulfilled, or canceled. If you have a question about a specific order, use Order Notes for faster communication with the vendor. If you need additional help or do not receive a response, you can escalate the order to WholesalePet support. Our customer service team is here to help keep your orders moving.
