2025 kicks off with our K-9 Chief Knottie™ to celebrate Project K-9 Hero and Chief, one of their national ambassadors. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this toy will go to support their work providing medical care, food, and death benefit assistance for our nation’s retired Police and Military Working Dogs. Project K-9 Hero's beginnings were inspired by the career and life of K-9 "Flash", founder Jason Johnson's very own working dog. From wandering the streets alone as a puppy to scoring 100% on her law enforcement tests, K-9 Flash is a hero's hero. Throughout serving nearly a decade with the Yakima Police Department, Flash deployed more than 3,000 times and made 2,200 narcotic related finds and seizures. Flash retired in 2013 and spent the rest of her life with her handler, Jason Johnson, as Project K-9 Hero's very first National Ambassador. Her heroic efforts earned her 2018 Dog of the Year; she even has TWO children's books telling her inspiring story.
